    Outlines ways to adapt your sales or marketing interactions to meet the needs of different personalities.

  1. Corlett, Eleanor & Millner, Nancy: Navigating Midlife Using Typology as a Guide, Davies Black Publishing, 1993. ISBN: 0-89106-061-8.
    Essential reading for 35 - 60yr olds. Has a whole chapter on each type at midlife and describes how each type can cope with and grow through midlife.

  1. Demarest, Larry: Looking at Type in the Workplace. Centre for Applications of Psychological Type (CAPT) Gainesville, Florida, 1997. ISBN: 0-935652-32-9.
    A basic introduction to the ways the eight preferences (E/I; S/N; T/F; J/P) present at work, and the characteristic requirements and style of each of the 16 personality types. Also in this CAPT series "Looking at Type and Spirituality".

  1. Dunning, Donna: What's your TYPE of career? Unlock the secrets of your personality to find your erfect career path. Davies Black Publishing, 2001. ISBN: 0-89106-154-1
    Encourages you to find the career best suited to your type and to take advantage of your natural way of working. Groups the types into 8 groups, in contrast to the type and career book by Tieger who treats each of the 16 types individually. Both are useful for those wanting to work out a new job.

  1. Hirsh Sandra: Introduction to Type and Teams. Consulting Psychologists Press, CA. 1992.
    Briefly describes how each type functions well in a team and the problems their styles may cause. Excellent starting point.

  1. Hirsh, Sandra & Kise, Jane: Work it Out, Clues for Solving People Problems at Work, Davies Black Publishing, 1996. ISBN: 0-89106-088-X.
    There are a number of recent books on the applications of type at work. All cover very similar areas, e.g. meetings, communication clashes, time management, stress. This is one of the them.

  1. Hirsh Sandra and Kise Jane: Soul Types: Finding the spiritual path that is right for you. Hyperion, New York 1998 ISBN: 0-7868-8289-1
    Comprehensive descriptions of the spiritual paths most typical of each type.

  1. Jones, Jane & Sherman, Ruth: Intimacy & Type, A Practical Guide for Improving Relationships, Centre for Applications of Psychological Type, Florida, 1997. ISBN: 0-935652-23-X.
    Strengths and weaknesses of each type in personal relationships with the same/similar types and then with opposites. Lots of handy hints on coping.

    Fascinating! Considers goal setting, time management, conflict resolution, problem solving, team building and more at work and gives profiles for each type at work.

  1. Kummerow, Jean M, Barger, Nancy J & Kirby, Linda K. Work Types. Consulting Psychologists Press, California. 1997. ISBN 0-446-67217-3
    Covers issues such as time management, running meetings, communication and conflict, leadership, change, etc.

  1. Kroeger, Otto & Thuesen, Janet: 16 Ways to Love Your Lover: Understanding the 16 Personality Types, Delacorte Press, New York 1994. ISBN: 0-385-31031-5.
    Fascinating! Describes preference clashes on everything from money to sex and communication.

  1. Martin, Charles: Looking at Type, The Fundamentals. Centre for Applications of Psychological Type (CAPT) Gainesville, Florida, 1997. ISBN: 0-935652-31-0.
    A good introduction. Provides a brief history and outline of the MBTI, explains what the scores mean and provides details of each type.

  1. Myers, Isabel Briggs: Introduction to Type, 6th Edition, Consulting Psychologists Press, California.
    A 43 page booklet explaining each preference and type, and background to the MBTI. An original by the founder of MBTI.

  1. Quenk, Naomi: Beside Ourselves, Our Hidden Personality in Everyday Life, CPP books, California, 1993. ISBN: 0-89106-062-6.
    Essential reading. Describes what stresses each type, how each type behaves when stressed and why, and how each type can return to balance.

  1. Tieger Paul & Barron-Tieger B: Do What You Are: Discover the perfect career for you through the secrets of personality type. Little, Brown and Company, Boston, 1995. ISBN: 0-316-84522-1.
    Career possibilities for each type and how to get the right job. Comprehensive.
